Costabile and Spears (2012) believe that
the classic method of knowledge flow from master to pupil is outdated. Progressing
to state that a new system is needed within education where relationships
change between teachers and pupils because of the influence of technology. This
implies that Costabile and Spears (2012) believe that teachers will be taking a
less authoritative role and take on a more supporting role for pupils alongside
technology.
Teachers
and Technology (1995) argues that whilst they agree that technology is taking a bigger
role in education, teachers are not getting the support to use new technology
in the way that is becoming rapidly expected. On the other hand, from Costabile
and Spears belief that teachers will be taking a supporting role in the
classroom. Teachers and Technology (1995) believes that learning could become
lost during this period of teachers having to adapt to the high demand of
technology and experiences of the teacher may no longer be relevant. Therefore,
teachers should only be using new technology as an aid to engage children
rather than letting the technology become the sole focus.
